Burgstaller double pack – Furious Rapidler don’t give BW Linz a chance

Rapid gained additional self-confidence ahead of the European Cup highlight against Fiorentina. The Hütteldorfer won on Sunday in the away game of the 4th round of the Bundesliga at promoted Blau-Weiss Linz 5-0 and fixed the second sense of achievement this week after the equally high rout on Thursday in Debrecen. It was the second victory for Hütteldorfer this season, with seven points they improved to third place in the table. The people of Linz, on the other hand, have to wait for their premiere success in the upper house, the 3:3 against Hartberg is the only point they have won. But he couldn’t be satisfied with the performance of his team in the first half.Furious startThe players from Linz were too far away from the opponent, the Viennese were able to combine as they wished, especially after winning the ball, and quickly made the preliminary decision. After Pirkl lost the ball on the center line, ex-Linzer Matthias Seidl sent winger Moritz Oswald with a pass and Burgstaller headed his cross into the net in the middle. Danilo Mitrovic had no chance in a duel with the ex-ÖFB team striker. Even before the second goal, the switching game was right for the guests. Burgstaller also had the necessary luck with the ball, prevailed against Manuela Maranda and once again gave Nicolas Schmid no chance to defend himself. A remarkable overhead kick from Oswald was rightly disallowed in advance because of a handball by Seidl (26′). After that, the Viennese skillfully managed the lead and only had brief problems at the beginning of the second half. A goal by Fabio Strauss was disallowed for being offside (49′), a Ronivaldo shot went centrally to Niklas Hedl (54′). Goals only came from the other side. The differences were obvious, and Rapid was mercilessly effective. On a day like this you have to congratulate Rapid and they showed us our limits. We have to be realistic about the whole thing, and in the first few rounds we had opponents who were clearly superior to us. When the opponent puts pressure on us and we get stressed, we still make the wrong decisions. We’re not allowed to condemn or badmouth any players, these are my players. We have to keep up the good energy in the team. But we have to look the truth in the face and can’t sugarcoat anything.” Zoran Barisic (Rapid-Trainer): “It was an unbelievably great game just a few days after the hardships of the European Cup, and we rewarded ourselves with five goals. What makes me particularly happy is that the players I substituted gave us renewed energy. Now we’re more efficient in front of the opponent’s goal, before we just skipped the sitters. Nobody could have expected that our development would take place so quickly. It’s just important to me that we know before we’re coming and where we want to go and that we stay with ourselves. I assume that Cvetkovic will have a serious injury. The way that feels, I don’t have a good feeling.”
