Buses as a replacement – railway line at Pass Lueg closed on weekends

During the day, rock and slope stabilization work takes place from Saturday to Monday. A rail replacement service with buses is set up.

On the railway line at Pass Lueg, extensive rock and slope stabilization work will take place next weekend in the area of the Ofenauer tunnel south portal. As the ÖBB announced on Monday, the tracks will be closed from Saturday, October 23rd to Monday, October 25th, from 8.45 a.m. to 4.40 p.m. A replacement bus service will be set up between the stations of Golling-Abtenau and Werfen (local traffic) and Bischofshofen (long-distance traffic).

As the Federal Railways announced, rocks were discovered during routine checks that urgently need to be secured. Specialists will preventively remove rocks and stones from the 400 meter high wall. In order to use the time of the closure as efficiently as possible, work on the tracks and inspections in the tunnel are carried out at the same time. For example, rails are exchanged in particularly stressed areas or green cuttings and mulching work are carried out.

ÖBB ask customers to find out about the desired connection before starting their journey.
