In February 2023, the number of business creations in France stood at 86,665, an increase of 2% over one month, according to data published at 8:45 a.m. by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee). Compared to February 2022, business registrations are up by 360 units, or 0.4% more. Last month, France recorded 84,937 business creations (-4.4% over one month and -5.8% over one year).
What you need to know about this indicator: To measure business creations in France, INSEE uses the Directory of Businesses and Establishments (REE), taken from the Sirene database. Since January 2009 and the creation of the micro-enterprise regime (called auto-enterprise until 2014), business creations in the broad sense include “classic” enterprises and micro-enterprises.
