In September 2023, the number of business creations in France stood at 93,346, a drop of 1.2% over one month, according to data published at 8:45 a.m. by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee ). Compared to September 2022, business registrations are up by 3,843 units, or 4.3% more. Last month, France recorded 94,495 business creations (+4.1% over one month and +7.2% over one year).
What you need to know about this indicator: To measure business creations in France, INSEE uses the Directory of Companies and Establishments (REE), taken from the Sirene database. Since January 2009 and the creation of the micro-enterprise regime (called self-enterprise until 2014), business creations in the broad sense have included “classic” companies and micro-enterprises.
