These are PlayStation 5s that have been seized in court cases. The sale is organized by the Agency for the Management and Recovery of Seized and Confiscated Assets (AGRASC), and will take place on October 4 and 5, 2022 in Lyon and Marseille. Maison Drouot is responsible for managing these auctions.
Lot 31 consists of a PS5 accompanied by its DualSense controller, the basic pack offered by Sony. Lot 32 is a little more interesting, since it includes, in addition to the console, two controllers and six games, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Watch Dogs: Legion.
The starting price for lot 31 is 400 euros, while a new PS5 has been sold for 550 euros in stores since the console price hike last month. It is to be expected that the auctions will reach at least this price of 550 euros.
AirPods Pro, luxury cars and watches at auction
Between shortage of components and scalping phenomenon, the PS5 has been out of stock since its launch. To get one, you have to either register on a waiting list with resellers who offer this option, or buy a pack with games that significantly inflate the bill, or go through more or less legitimate marketplaces, where the price is often higher than the official rate.
