In the 1990s, the round, colorful toy with a mini-screen was all the rage among children. The Tamagotchi reported regularly to be fed or entertained. 25 years later, fans can now reminisce again.

We miss the 90s. At least one would think, given the many trends from this decade that are coming back. Only recently did we all reminisce about the colorful decade when we watched the reunion of the cult sitcom “Friends”. Perhaps an attempt to revive the old days.

And the 90s nostalgia continues. Because 25 years after its launch, the dearest chick of all time is coming back: the Tamagotchi. How nice it was back then when you only had one worry: giving your virtual chick enough food and affection so that it doesn’t die.

The electric toy was developed by the Bandai company in Japan in 1996 and became a hit with us a year later. We really carried the round, colorful toy with a mini screen around with us. Because the Tamagotchi reported regularly to be fed or entertained. Almost like a real pet.
