But ! Why does Molotov raise prices for his old customers?

The online television service has just increased the price of its subscription for its former customers.

The rise in prices continues in the world of streaming, and after the American services, it is the turn of the French platforms to review the prices of their subscription offers.

Former Molotov subscribers will have to checkout

Molotov is a live television service that offers its users access to their favorite TV channels from a browser or a dedicated application. For a few years now, it has also offered a paid offer, Molotov Plus, to access the channels of the TF1 and M6 groups as well as other services such as live monitoring or replay.

This formula was billed at 3.99 euros per month, but the French service has just warned its customers that the price of their offer will increase to 5.89 euros per month in the coming weeks. The customers concerned have no choice but to agree to pay an additional 2 euros or to terminate their offer without obligation.

An increase of 2 euros to continue to receive TF1 and M6

To justify this price increase, Molotov highlights the fact that the Molotov Plus offer no longer exists in its catalog. Indeed, this subscription was canceled in August 2022 and replaced by another formula, Molotov Extra, which offers more or less the same content and services, access to 80 channels and four simultaneous screens in high definition.

Molotov probably wanted to avoid penalizing his new customers, who until now had paid more for the same service. Subscribers who wish not to suffer this price increase would immediately lose access to the TF1 and M6 channels, and to the other channels held by the two French audiovisual groups.

Molotov is not the only one to have raised the bill. For reasons of increasing VAT from 10 to 20%, Canal+ at the end of last year inflated the price of its various formulas by a few extra euros.
