Buttery Skin is the latest beauty trend – we’ll tell you what’s behind it and how you can make-up the look.

Butter on the skin? As soon as we read, everything pulls together. But what are not we all doing for glowing skin, right? Okay, joking aside. Fortunately, the new beauty trend Buttery Skin has nothing to do with butter – it just looks like buttery soft. We’ll tell you how to create the look.

Buttery Skin: the most beautiful trend of the year?

Isabelle De Vries, PRO Makeup Artists from Los Angeles, has launched the new trend – and we want to wear it right away. For Buttery Skin, it’s all about one thing: radiantly beautiful skin. And we are not talking about a discreet glow, the skin should look like it was made of butter. So soft, tender, and a bit oily. So much has already been said: The trend is probably not for people with very oily skin, as this look naturally enhances the shine on the face. If you have combination skin or normal skin, you will love this trend. Even with dry skin, the whole thing can work well, as De Vries reveals in an interview with Allure .

Buttery Skin – that’s how it works

Among her postings on Instagram, De Vries also writes about how she created the look. Key to the radiant look is the layers of different products.

1. De Vries starts with a peeling pad and frees the skin of dandruff and makes them shine. This is followed, at best, by a moisturizing facial mask, followed by facial care. Her favorites: The cream of La Mer and the Skin Food skin cream from Weleda.

2. The make-up artist makes the skin glow with an illuminating primer. Here it uses, for example, the strobe cream of Mac. This first applies it to the highest points of the face and then distributes it to the rest of the facial skin.

3. “A dewy foundation is a must,” reveals De Vries. She currently uses the Infaillible 24H Fresh WearFoundation from L’Oreal and mixes a liquid highlighter. That ensures the extra glow! The mixture is then pressed with her hands and into the skin. A sponge or a brush are not necessary here.

4. Even with blush and highlighter Isabelle De Vries remains with cream products, which she also applies with his fingers. In order to combine everything, she will end up with the beauty blender about the products. The only powder product used in the Buttery Skin technique is a contour powder. But here is: less is more!

5. The Buttery Glow is followed by another highlighter: a Wet Look Highlighter Stick, a highlighter that makes the skin look almost wet. For example, the Dewy Wetlook Stick by Catrice would be a great option here. The product then comes on the cheekbones, the eyelids and the lips. And do not stingy!

6. Last but not least: Setting Spray. To make the look perfect, another spray is used, which fixes the makeup and at the same time gives even more glow. De Vries swears by the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, but unfortunately that is not available in Germany. Our favorite option: the Pixi Glow Mist.
