Import Xiaomi 12S Ultra from China

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is probably one of the most exciting Android smartphones this year. It is therefore all the more regrettable that Smartphone is not sold in Germany, but only in China. But that doesn’t matter, because if you really want the smartphone, you can import it from China. Many have already done this with Xiaomi cell phones. Normally that doesn’t have to be the case, because the smartphones actually always appear in Germany. This is not the case with the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and therefore only the import from China helps.

With TradingShenzhen, a first retailer has listed the Xiaomi 12S Ultra at euro prices:

  • Xiaomi 12S Ultra with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for 1,077 euros
  • Xiaomi 12S Ultra with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for 1,177 euros
  • Xiaomi 12S Ultra with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for 1,277 euros

But be careful: The prices have recently changed several times. They were initially lower and have now risen significantly. Since the smartphone will only be available in China, this could drive prices up furtherif the interest there is particularly high.

What do you need to know about the import

There are a few things to consider when importing the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

  • Chinese version: You get the Xiaomi 12S Ultra in a Chinese version with the software intended for this country. Talk to a lot of apps, possibly unadapted software and limited LTE network coverage, because LTE band 20 is not supported. Although TradingShenzhen includes an EU power plug, it will probably not support the full potential of fast charging.
  • Import costs: The prices shown above only correspond to the pure smartphone prices. Fees apply for import. It really depends on which shipping method you choose. If you choose DHL Express, you have to do all the customs processing yourself and pay a lot more. With “Global Priority” the shop does it for you. However, the shipping costs then increase significantly.
  • Warranty: If you have a problem with the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, you cannot contact Xiaomi, you can only contact the dealer in the first year. In the worst case, the cell phone has to be sent back to China and repaired there.

It’s really a shame that Xiaomi doesn’t officially offer the 12S Ultra in Germany. So if you really want the cell phone, you’ll have to import it and you’ll take the risk. We would not recommend that.
