The year 2021 is only for the brave – at least when it comes to hairstyles. Long whale manes and XXL hairs were yesterday, now comes the buzzcut – and it's tough!

When it comes to fashion, we've been using men's wardrobes for a long time and only too happy. Oversize shirts, sweaters, cardigans, etc. Whatever a man likes, a woman is just right. But why only get inspiration from fashion? In 2021 we will expand our soft spot for trends from the men's world and ask for the buzzcut, because it suits us women at least as well.

That's the buzzcut

"Buzz" stands for the buzz a razor makes when it slowly runs through your hair. You already guessed it: this hairstyle is not for the faint of heart and requires an extra dose of courage. But it pays off, because the radical cut rewards us with a cool look that is sure not to be forgotten anytime soon. But back to the razor: With the buzzcut, the hair is almost completely shaved off. Short stubble, through which you can see down to the scalp, characterize this short hairstyle.

The hairstyle is not to be confused with the pixie cut, in which the hair is worn a few centimeters longer. The pixie became a trend hairstyle in the 1960s and has since been an integral part of the hairstyle repertoire, which ensures trend comebacks year after year.

Who can wear a buzz cut?

In general, the hairstyle is especially suitable for women who have soft facial features. A radical short haircut automatically hardens the facial contours and makes them look more boyish. Women who already tend to have a square face and a high forehead should be careful with a buzzcut and opt for an alternative short hairstyle.

It is best to get advice from a hairdresser you trust and do not use the razor yourself. A consistent result is the key here – and therefore a matter for the professional.
