Only two clubs make more sales than Bayern

The coronavirus pandemic can do little to harm FC Bayern. Despite the loss of income, the German soccer champions are one of the top-selling clubs in Europe. He replaces the crashed FC Barcelona, climbs to third place in Deloitte’s calculations.
FC Bayern Munich has maintained its position among the top-selling football clubs in Europe in the second year of the coronavirus pandemic. The German record champion was listed in third place with a turnover of 611 million euros in the 2020/21 season (634 million in 2019/20) according to calculations by the auditing and consulting company Deloitte. The table of the 20 clubs with the highest turnover on the continent is now led by Manchester City (645 million), which replaced FC Barcelona, which fell in fourth place.
Last year Barça was still at the top with 715 million euros, now it is 582 million. The financially troubled club has a debt of 1.35 billion euros. Second in the ranking is Real Madrid with a turnover of 641 million euros.
Two Bundesliga clubs fall out of the rankings
In addition to Bayern, only Borussia Dortmund (338 million) from the Bundesliga is in the top 20. BVB is still 12th. Unlike last year, FC Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt are no longer represented. New in the ranking are the four English clubs Leicester (15th), West Ham (16th), Wolverhampton (17th) and Aston Villa (20th). The Premier League is the vast majority with eleven clubs, also thanks to the high TV income.
Overall, the 20 clubs turned over 8.2 billion euros, almost at the level of the 2019/20 season. The record was set in the 2018/19 season with 9.3 billion euros. On average, each club achieved a turnover of 409 million euros.
The biggest losses had to be accepted in the area of matchday income. According to Deloitte, these revenues are at the lowest level in the history of the study, which has been carried out for 25 years. While these were still 1.5 billion euros in 2018/19, the clubs recorded revenues of 111 million euros in the past season due to the exclusion of viewers.
