The descent into hell finally seems over for Alchimie en Bourse. Web TV shares gained 30% this Friday, to 4 euros, bringing their rebound to 70% since the start of the week. At the historic low, at the end of January, they had fallen in session to less than 2 euros. A few days earlier, the company, which offers thematic channels such as that dedicated to agriculture Cultivonsnous.tv by Guillaume Canet, had published its 2021 turnover, an opportunity for the financial community to note that the number of subscribers had dropped at the end of December compared to the June score. However, Alchimie needs more than 1 million subscribers to be profitable. The stock market saw the profitability threshold move a little further away knowing that, in October, the company had already delayed this objective by a year. The breakeven point was now expected for the end of 2023.

But yesterday, Alchimie, which took on new management in December, announced ” an adaptation of its model to target Ebitda [excédent brut d’exploitation] positive in 2022 “. The company will « optimize[er] [s]resources on chains with potential to support profitable growth » and resize its structure, focusing on the French and Spanish markets. ” The management of the company will henceforth be geared primarily towards achieving profitability rather than an objective of growing the subscriber base. This adaptation of the model will thus allow the company’s resources to be concentrated on its profitable assets. “, we read in a press release. The strategic adaptations made will enable Alchimie to lower its operating breakeven point to “a turnover of more than 20 million” for 2022. It was just over 32 million in 2021, but it is expected to fall this year due to the refocusing of resources on profitable activities.

Alchimie also intends to diversify its activity by capitalizing on its know-how. “The company will thus market its channel publishing offer to companies, following the example of the partnership established in 2021 with a leading retailer. » The company also aims to“editing content with media and talent without co-editing the channels, acting as a service provider to third parties. »
