"C à vous": Roselyne Bachelot on the verge of tears faced with the situation in nursing homes: Current Woman Le MAG

"This report is sad, it tears your tears"It is with these words, Wednesday May 20, that Roselyne Bachelot responded to a report by a team of C to you who went to an establishment reserved for elderly people who was largely affected by the coronavirus. To prevent the epidemic from starting to rise again and affect other residents, the management of the Ehpad decided to take drastic measures : visit limited to thirty minutes and behind a window, residents who almost always live in confinement … Measures that are very difficult for the elderly who don't understand why they're cut off from the world. While the virus claimed 14,000 lives in the Ehpad, an assessment almost comparable to the heat wave of 2003, the journalist Maxime Switek asked Roselyne Bachelot what the government had missed.

A palpable emotion on the set of C to you

But the former Minister of Health had a hard time answering this question. Very moved by the images she had just seen. "It is obviously the fact that the medico-social was not taken into account in the precautionary measures (…) But there it is not only a deficiency, it is an abandonment in the Ehpad. In the reflection that must be carried out in the health system, it must not be only hospital-centered", did she still manage to declare before apologizing again in recalling that she was very moved. Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine, also visibly touched in the heart after this report, left a few seconds of blank before resuming the thread of her program.
