C11 in action – Grazer injured while searching for mushrooms in Lavanttal

A 55-year-old man from Graz was rescued by the C11 rescue helicopter and brought to the LKH Wolfsberg on Tuesday: he got into an impassable area while looking for mushrooms and was injured in the process.

While searching for mushrooms, the Graz native got into rough terrain in the municipality of Bad St. Leonhard and broke his left ankle in the process. His wife, who had accompanied the man on the excursion, immediately notified the rescue workers. The mountain rescue found the man from Graz and his wife at an altitude of around 1,400 meters.

The injured man was finally rescued by the C11 rescue helicopter using a rope and flown to the Wolfsberg regional hospital.
