Caf, inflation bonus, tobacco prices… Here is everything that will change on March 1

On March 1, new measures come into force and, with them, more or less advantageous consequences for the wallet.

Inflation bonus

The inflation bonus, intended for 38 million individuals, amounts to 100 euros net of tax. It concerns those who receive less than 2,000 euros in monthly net income. Retirees are the last on the list to have to touch it, they will receive it on February 28 at the latest, according to the National Old Age Insurance Fund.

Prime Macron: last deadline

Employers can pay this bonus until March 31. The Macron bonus can reach 2,000 euros per year for employees whose gross income does not exceed more than 4,809.45 euros per month. In 2021, they are nearly 4 million to have received 506 euros in premium.

Restaurant coupon

For restaurant tickets, the ceiling of 38 euros per day remains the same until June 30. A decision which aims to continue supporting the catering sector, strongly impacted by the crisis. Originally, this ceiling was to end on February 28 to return to 19 euros.

Extension of holiday vouchers

Do you still have holiday vouchers for an amount greater than 30 euros whose validity date has expired since December 31, 2021? Don’t throw them away. It is possible to exchange them until March 31 for an additional two-year validity. In any case, this is what article L411-12 of the Tourism Code provides. To do this, you must go to the site: leguide.ancv.com

Payment of alimony made easier

To facilitate the payment of alimony, the government has set up a new public alimony service. The latter now acts as an intermediary between the two parents, so that the pension systematically passes through him, and avoid unpaid bills. Unless the parents refuse, all newly determined child support will now be paid through the Agency for the recovery and intermediation of child support, managed by the CAF and the MSA. Concretely, this intermediation service will apply from Tuesday March 1 for divorces before the courts fixing alimony, and from January 1, 2023 for other types of court decisions concerning alimony and divorces by mutual consent.

End of winter break

The winter break applies from November 1, 2021 and will end on March 31. During this period, the eviction of a tenant cannot take place. On the other hand, this truce does not apply to the squatter occupying a dwelling. Nor does it concern eviction from the marital home ordered by the judge in the event of violence or divorce proceedings.

End of wearing a mask in closed places subject to the vaccination pass

The deadline was expected by many: from February 28, the French will be able to do without the mask in closed places where the vaccination pass is compulsory. Bars, cafes, restaurants, stadiums, sports halls, cinemas, libraries are particularly concerned. Wearing a mask, however, remains in force in public transport (TGV, metros and buses), as well as in places of health. As far as department stores and shopping centers are concerned, this will depend on prefectural orders.

New tobacco prices

On March 1, cigarette packs will increase as every year, a strategy put in place by the government to fight against smoking. So, for example, the pack of Maya Green Spirit, in 20 units, increases by 10 cents to 9.8 euros. Ditto for the Maya Green 100% Tobacco Paper filter, the Maya Spirit 100% Tobacco Paper Filter or the Maya Green Spirit Paper Filter.

On the side of cigars or cigarillos, note an increase of 50 cents the Davidoff Aniversario Double R in 25 cigars which go to 40 euros, for example.
