(Boursier.com) — The members of the Caisse des Dépôts Supervisory Commission today elected their chairman from among the parliamentarians who make it up: Alexandre Holroyd, Renaissance deputy for the third constituency of French people living outside France, was elected unanimously. Alexandre Holroyd was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Commission on August 6, 2022 by the President of the National Assembly.
Re-elected deputy for the 3rd constituency of French people living outside France (Northern Europe) in 2022, Alexandre Holroyd has sat on the Finance Committee of the National Assembly since 2017. From 2020 to 2022, he is the coordinator for the Republic in March (whip) in particular on all budgetary texts. He also sits on the European Affairs Committee. Before engaging in the 2017 presidential campaign, Alexandre was a director at the consulting firm FTI Consulting.
“In an unprecedented context of economic instability, energy crisis, climate challenge, and persistent social and territorial fractures, Caisse des dépôts and all of its subsidiaries and strategic holdings have a decisive role to play in supporting and investing in our territories, to participate in the financing of the energy and ecological transition while protecting the savings of the French people” affirms Alexandre Holroyd. “The legislator has recently strengthened the prerogatives of the Supervisory Commission to ensure both the protection of Caisse des dépôts and the effectiveness of its action in the service of the general interest and the economic development of the country. These will be the common threads of my mandate” he concluded.
Caisse des Dépôts is a public financial institution created by the law of April 28, 1816. It has a unique status and mode of governance in France. Its status aims to ensure its autonomy, so that it can manage private funds requiring special protection. It is thus placed “in the most special way under the supervision and guarantee of the legislative authority”.
