Call for a boycott of Orelsan: “What the petition says is precisely one of the things that the song denounces”

While the association Routes Nomades calls for a boycott of Orelsan after the use of the term “Mongolian” in “The smell of gasoline”, the sociologist Anthony Pecqueux returns to the uses of rap.

Twelve years after the complaint of feminist associations, accusing Orelsan of misogyny in his song Dirty whore – he was finally released in 2016 –, the rapper faces a new controversy. The Nomadic Routes association launched a petition on Change.org, already signed by more than 13,000 people.
