Call for a strike Thursday within Cetelem for wage increases

The inter-union of the consumer credit brand Cetelem calls in a letter sent to AFP on Tuesday for a strike on Thursday June 16 to demand in particular a general increase in wages.

This is the first call to strike this year within BNP Personal Finance, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas which owns the Cetelem brand.

The social dialogue is tense, has become difficult with the management explains AFP Louis Grabey, of the CFTC.

The mandatory annual negotiations (NAO) within each company in the banking sector had moderately convinced the unions at the start of the year: wage increases of 0.6% this year for BNP Paribas, +1% for Crédit Mutuel and HSBC, via +0.7% for Socit Gnrale and +0.8% for BPCE.

CFDT, CFTC, UNSA, FO and CGT are jointly responsible for BNP Personal Finance because inflation has since accelerated sharply, in particular due to the war in Ukraine, which has caused the price of raw materials and energy to soar. It thus reached 5.2% over one year in May, according to INSEE.

To preserve the purchasing power of employees, the intersyndicale is asking for a general monthly increase of 125 euros for all gross annual fixed salaries up to 41,000 euros and an individual increase for technicians and certain executives who have not received one for more of three years.

The Cetelem unions also denounce the fact of not having received a Macron bonus, an exceptional bonus for tax-free and socially-free purchasing power, which can reach up to 3,000 euros.

It is time that the ideas received on the side kids gts banking sector wages fall. If a few happy couple higher strata pocket indecent salaries, it is not at all the same for the 5,500 employees of Cetelem and in particular for the more than 2,000 technicians of the bank, indicates the inter-union in a press release.
