This is not a big surprise sinceand the game has been leaked many times for many months, but it is now official: the next installment of the saga Call of Duty will be called Modern Warfare II. In a short teaser, Infinity Ward, which will be handling the project in Activision’s usual studio rotation, unveiled the game’s official logo and a mention: “The new era of Call of Duty is coming”.
While the saga was to lose its regular side (with the takeover by Microsoft) by not offering an opus in 2023, we already know that Battle Royale type games are in preparationeither a sequel to Warzone or a new opus with a different gameplay. Sledgehammer would also be already at work to replace the failed Vanguard. In any case, in 2022 it is indeed MWII that is expected.
In a recent financial report, Activision announced that the game would exceed gamers’ wildest expectations, with the most experience in the series. According to the first information revealed a few months ago by insiders, the game will very logically follow the Modern Warfare reboot of 2019the most popular episode of the series with more than 30 million sales.
