Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 should feature an Escape from Tarkov-inspired mode, DMZ

In a few weeks, at the beginning of June in all likelihood, we should discover the next episode of the Call of Duty license, which is quite simply Modern Warfare 2, the sequel to the one released in 2019. Of course, as always for the license, the rumors are quite numerous. Lately Hallway Noises mentioned and gave some details about a special mode, named DMZ.

This mode seems to have several similarities with Escape from Tarkov, a survival game in which the player must extract himself after completing a mission., at the risk of losing all his stuff. Very popular game, several studios have or will release productions similar to it, and this also seems to be the case with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. According to what has leaked, DMZ will offer an experience in which players will have access to a marketplace to buy/trade itemsalso including skins, which can be used in multiplayer, and potentially in Warzone 2, although on this point nothing is certain.

For the rest, it was explained that DMZ would offer a day/night cycle and dynamic weather, to make the various missions much more difficult to complete. Four maps would be offered upon release, all with notable differences. Finally, this mode seems important for Activision, which wants to include it with the evolution of the game.

We should learn a little more at the beginning of June, since the single player of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 should show itself first, before unveiling the multiplayer, of which the DMZ mode is a part. A presence at the Summer Game Fest is (very) likely.
