Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: Visibility, lobbies… Changes planned before its release!

A few days ago, gamers around the world were able to get their hands on Infinity Ward’s next installment for the first time, of course we’re talking about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

It is indeed through its two beta phases that we were able to get a small idea of what awaits us for October 28th. Nevertheless, despite some good feedback, some points have somewhat upset the players with in particular the visibility of enemies, the SBMM, or even an AIM assist deemed much too powerful and the audio not so crazy as that, at least as far as footsteps. Good news, the developers are working to rectify certain points!

Infinity Ward hears players and corrects course for Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will appear on PlayStation, Xbox and PC consoles on October 28th, that is, in less than a month from now, but before that there are indeed some aspects to be corrected before the final publication of the Infinity Ward title, since the different beta phases have raised some rather dark points to be corrected.

First of all, despite changes made during the second phase of the beta, visibility remains for the moment an important aspect to modify, the latest changes having not really convinced the community. Because of this, the studio announced that it was looking for a solution other than the display “standard name plates“. During the beta, several players had a lot of trouble perceiving who were their allies and who were their enemies.

otherwiseanother problem which this time is related to lobbies did a lot of talking. After each game, the lobbies were indeed dissolved each time, whereas traditionally, the players stay together and therefore chain the games. Thus, the community wants a return to this system, but the studio does not seem convinced and then tries to find a solution that could satisfy everyone (via CharlieIntel).

Finally, we can also expect sound design changes, including footsteps, weapon rebalancing, a change to the 3rd person camera view and of course several other bug fixes!

See you in a few days!

As a reminder, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Battle.net but also via Steam.
