Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 brings back numerous well-known features. Among other things, detailed weapon statistics and the classic mini-map with red dots are represented.
There is now also information about various game modes that you can expect in the upcoming shooter. As Sledgehammer Games revealed during the last Next Live Stream event, the development studio is planning, among other things, to reintroduce War Mode.
War mode
War mode is already known from Call of Duty WW2. In the game mode, two teams compete against each other on a map. The attacking team has the task of achieving certain strategic goals, while the opposing team defends them.
After completing a round, teams switch roles, allowing both sides to both attack and defend. In Call of Duty WW2, the War mode is characterized, among other things, by the use of levels that the development studio created specifically for this game mode.
Little information is known about War Mode in Modern Warfare 3. According to a blog post, it is said to be a further development of the original version, which also contains updated functions. The mode also features a single colossal map where players fight against each other.
“Ground War” and “Invasion”
“Ground War” is reminiscent of a large-scale version of the “Domination” mode. Two teams of 32 fight for five control points until one team has reached 250 points. There are three different maps to choose from, which can also be played in “Invasion” mode.

Sledgehammer Games has reworked 16 mutiplayer maps from the previous title for Modern Warfare 3. This is what the modified maps look like.
“Invasion” offers another mode that is an alternative to “Ground War”. In two teams of 20 players each, you try to be the first to reach a certain number of points while eliminating real players and “AI”-controlled opponents.
“Cut Throat”
“Cutthroat” is a new 3v3v3 mode that shares similarities with Gunfight mode. The three teams spawn close to each other in a triangular layout. To win a round in Cutthroat, you must either eliminate all opposing players or capture the Overtime Flag.
Since each player only has one life in this mode, if they die, a team member must revive the fallen player. By the way, all 6v6 maps that will be available from November 10th should be playable here.
In addition to these game modes, another well-known mode is also returning for the upcoming shooter. As Activision has revealed, among other things, a customized zombie mode is available.
