PS5 fans are worried about the future Call of Duty releases for PS5 and PS4. But now Microsoft has commented on a possible Xbox exclusivity after the takeover announcement.

- With the takeover, Microsoft could turn Call of Duty into an Xbox exclusive series.
- However, there are contracts with Sony for the next three titles, which will ensure their release on PS4 and PS5 until 2024.
- But beyond that, CoD titles should continue to appear for PlayStation
So far, the Call of Duty series has also appeared on PS5, as proven by Call of Duty Vanguard, but theoretically that could change in the future.
Microsoft is planning to acquire the Activision Blizzard company and this acquisition could mean that CoD will only appear for Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC in the future, while PS4 and PS5 are not considered.
Phil Spencer has so far confirmed that Microsoft intends to stick to existing deals, and Bloomberg has reported that Sony and Activision have at least signed deals for the next three shooter titles.

Now Microsoft has even announced in its own blog that the Call of Duty series and other popular titles from Activision Blizzard will continue to appear for PlayStation beyond the existing contracts.

PS5 players have to worry about a number of titles after Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard. Now the survival of at least one blockbuster on the PlayStation is certain.
Even if there are no further contracts with Sony, the annual shooter is safe for the next few years on PlayStation. An Xbox exclusivity would be 2024 at the earliest, but it seems increasingly unlikely.
In a pinch, there are shooter alternatives
If, contrary to expectations, the next CoD shooter does not appear for PS5, owners of the console can, however, fall back on a long release list with other titles.
