Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: Date, map, modes… All about the next Battle Royale

It is indeed in less than a month that we will be able to set foot on the new lands of the next Battle Royale, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. If Warzone first of the name will always be available and playable, we imagine not without difficulty that the players will still throw themselves en masse on the new one.

So, here is absolutely everything you need to know about the Battle Royale developed by none other than Infinity Ward.

When will Warzone 2.0 be available?

It was during the somewhat special Call of Duty Next conference on September 15 that the news broke: in addition to having had the first images of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, we also learned that the next Battle Royale will open its doors from November 16.

Thus, these are PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC players who will be able to set foot on the lands of Al Mazrah. Good news for console players, the FOV option (field of view adjustment) will finally be available.

Welcome to Al Mazrah

As we told you, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be equipped witha new map, drawing a line under Caldera and Verdansk (although Verdansk will be making a return to Warzone Mobile). Here we will be dealing with the large map ofAl-Mazrah which Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players got a glimpse of through the game’s campaign.

As with Warzone, this large-scale map will also have several POIs with: Oasis, Taraq Village, Al Mazrah City, Rohan Oil, Quarry, Hydroelectric, Marshlands, Caves, Observatory, Port, Sa’id City, Abkdar Village, Cemetery, Sarrif Bay, Sawah Village and finally Airport and Fortress.

In total, we will therefore have the right to 17 POIs (point of interest) which promise a lot of action, and more particularly towards Al Mazrah City, Airport and Observatory.

Speaking of Al Mazrah, the developers have indicated that there are several fairly mysterious areas on the map that are guarded by AI, these areas are called Strongholds. In these, hide prestigious loot, but to access it, players will have to show what they are capable of in the face of these inconvenient guards. As you will have understood, these are real fortresses.

Moreover, who says new map says new gulag but not only since it is the whole system and the functioning of the latter which have been reviewed. For Warzone 2.0, players will have to deal with a huge gulag in which they will have to team up with another player (who is not part of the same team) in order to kill the opponents opposite. However, there will also be the option of the jailer: the players can decide to face an AI which will be not far from them, and if they manage to kill it, it will drop a key which will therefore be used to open a exit door.

It was during the special Call of Duty Next showcase on September 15 that we were able to discover the next Battle Royale, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. If the novelties will be there, we will have among them a brand new gulag.

The shop gets a makeover

Also, Warzone 2.0 will benefit from a rather different Shop system of the first title. Here, it seems from the latest official information that players will no longer be able to buy their custom class through Buy Stations. Nevertheless, they will be able to buy their weapons and equipment there, but as far as assets are concerned, it’s a bit of a cold shower.

However, a noise from the hallway whispers that the developers have decided to modify this new shop system, to allow players to have access to personal classes again, business to follow.

Warzone 2.0 arrives with DMZ

Finally, the mode we’ve all been waiting for finally arrives and it too on November 16th, it’s the DMZ mode. The latter will be a large-scale Escape from Tarkov-like experience, and will feature more strategic gameplay than classic Battle Royale. To explain in a more concrete way: the players will be balanced in squad and will have to loot equipment. Be careful, if they want to keep it they will have to leave with it and this without being attacked/killed by an opposing team. Also, a special shop would be planned for DMZ, but unfortunately we haven’t had confirmation of it yet.

At the time of writing these lines, it is still very mysterious, but it seems that all the objectives to be accomplished through it have been found on the web. You can check it out right here.

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available since October 28 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC consoles via Steam and Battle.net, it is sometimes difficult to get started. For that, don’t panic, here are our 5 tips for a good start in the game.
