Call of Duty: Warzone – soon play shooter without console or PC

At first it was just a rumor, now it’s confirmed. Call of Duty: Warzone will soon be playable on smartphones. So far, the Battle Royale shooter is “only” available for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

A new Warzone experience for mobile devices

The confirmation comes from Activision Blizzard in the form of a job posting. The game company is currently looking Reinforcement for the development of Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile devices.

In the blog post, Activision writes:

“We are developing an entirely new AAA mobile experience that will give players the exciting, fluid and extensive action of Call of Duty: Warzone also on the go will make accessible”. (Source: Call of Duty)

According to Activision, this new Warzone will be developed specifically for mobile. The Battle Royale experience is intended for players around the world entertained for many yearssimilar to the now two-year-old Call of Duty: Warzone for console and PC.

Warzone for mobile already in 2022?

Since this is an extensive job posting, Warzone Mobile is probably located still in an early development phase.

However, industry insider Tom Henderson wrote a few months ago that that Activision is aiming for a release in 2022. Mobile game development is also progressing significantly faster than AAA console and PC games. So it’s not unlikely that you’ll be able to play Call of Duty: Warzone on your mobile devices later this year.

Alongside Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is the second battle royale game from the popular shooter brand to be released specifically for mobile devices.

CoD: Warzone is a Battle Royale with Free2Play mechanics in which a total of 150 players compete against each other in big battles. Warzone is since 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S available.
