Asked about the movement #MeToo which allowed the liberation of speech, the singer of 76 years has reframed the actress. "Little Camellia Jordana sings very well, but I am shocked by her words. With her talent, she should think a little and say thank you to the French Republic", she said in an interview with the Figaro, unveiled this Friday, February 19. Before continuing: "I am the same age as Catherine Deneuve, whom she criticizes, but I am proud that Deneuve signed the manifesto of 343 sluts in 1971". And this, when she has already been the victim of sexism: "One night, at a club, a boy put a hand on my buttocks. I slapped him with all my strength to the point that he bled from the nose."

For his part, Camélia Jordana went back on her words to denounce "false polemics". In an open letter published on the website of HuffPost, she wrote : "Yes, I speak. I speak because I live like you these shocking, disturbing and reassuring times sometimes (…). Thus, my supposed hatred of the man, whether he is white or not, is a pure invention . So it is also for Catherine Deneuve, Jane Birkin and Daniel Auteuil, immense artists whom I admire at the highest point since childhood. Here they too become subjects of remarks that I did not say ".
