Camilla Parker Bowles: this huge star who would be her distant cousin

Hard to believe and yet, according to specialists, Camilla Parker Bowles would share the same blood as an international star. The wife of King Charles III and Celine Dion had the same ancestor.

  • A genealogy site is interested in Camilla Parker Bowles
  • The wife of King Charles III would have the same blood … as Celine Dion
  • Camilla Parker Bowles would be a distant cousin of the singer

What if the queen consort was the distant cousin of the queen of Las Vegas? In any case, this is what the documents unearthed a few years ago suggest. In this Canadian study covering more than 300 years from 1641, researchers went back to a French carpenter who would be the ancestor of several personalities including the wife of Prince Charles III but also… Céline Dion and Madonna. The fact that the American singer, the Canadian diva and the Duchess of Cornwall have a common French ancestor shows “how unpredictable and at the same time entertaining a genealogy study can be”, said Ancestry spokesperson Simon Harper. “As soon as Prince Charles and Camilla’s accession to the throne was confirmed, we embarked on an investigation into his ancestry”explained Marie Cappart, genealogist of MyHeritage.fr

“Because we always find interesting things whether we are known or not elsewhere!”, she continued. An expert on the British royal family, she has built a stunning family tree by taking a closer look at the different branches of the British Crown. And this is not the only common ancestor of the two women. “The researcher algorithm was able to highlight that a French emigrant in Quebec appeared in Celine Dion’s family tree, but also in that of Charles’s wife”, she continues, specifying that the person concerned is called Jean Guyon du Buisson and that he was a master mason in the 17th century. And that’s not all, according to the site, the queen consort is also linked… to her husband!

King Charles III: his famous distant cousins

“The great-great-great-grandfather was responsible for the construction of a wing of Buckingham Palace, in 1847. The Great Frontage is today the public face of Buckingham Palace and contains the balcony from which the Royal Family greets crowds on momentous occasions,” ensured the specialized site. Like Camilla Parker Bowles, linked to Celine Dion thanks to Zacharie Cloutier, Charles III also has famous distant cousins… According to the specialist, the British sovereign would indeed be linked to Hugh Grant (10th cousins), George W. Bush (12th cousins), Kit Harrington from “Game of Thrones” (8th cousins), or even Madonna (16th cousins) if we go back to 1400.
