A French actress who handles humor and known in Hollywood: Camille Cottin will officiate as mistress of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 77e Cannes Film Festival, from May 14 to 25, France Télévisions and Rawwhich will broadcast the opening and closing ceremonies again this year.
The 45-year-old actress, who began in the comic register, with her character “Asshole”and numerous appearances in comedies, has seen his career accelerate in recent years.
His role as a supercharged artistic agent in the series Ten percent made her known to as many people as possible and opened the doors to Hollywood, where she made several films.
Abroad, she played with Ridley Scott (House of Gucci), with Matt Damon in Marseille (Stillwater) or in a biopic about former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir (golda). She also recently appeared alongside Jean Dujardin and George Clooney… in an ad for Nespresso coffee capsules.
The Cannes Film Festival has chosen the American Greta Gerwig, director of barbie, one of the biggest blockbusters of last year, to chair the jury. The latter will elect the film which will succeed the 2023 Palme d’Or, Anatomy of a fallby Justine Triet.
Quebec director Xavier Dolan will chair the jury for the Un Certain Regard prize.
The selection of the 77e edition must be announced on April 11.
Among the most anticipated films, and which could be selected, a megaproject by Francis Ford Coppola with Adam Driver and Forest Whitaker, Megalopolisthe adaptation of Limonov, by Emmanuel Carrère, by the Russian Kirill Serebrennikov, or even a musical comedy by Jacques Audiard in the world of drug trafficking in Mexico. As well as the remake of the sulfurous Emmanuellesigned Audrey Diwan.
