Camille Santoro (Large families): The big mistake that almost made him lose his twins

March 27, 2022 was a special day for Camille Santoro and her husband Nicholas. Four years ago, the candidates of Large families, life in XXL (TF1) have welcomed their twins Mattia and Maé into their lives. A story on which the beautiful 30-year-old blonde confided in an open heart in an Instagram story.

After having told of the arrival of her little Alba (1 year old), it is of her two youngest boys that Camille Santoro wished to speak on the occasion of their birthday. “A story you didn’t see on TV“, she clarified. The young woman did not hide that the path that led her to her sons was “one of the toughest fights” of his life. “After the loss of our baby [elle a fait une fausse couche, NDLR], it was hard for me to get pregnant again. And I got a little help, let’s put it that way. This is how Mattia and Maé arrived after more than two and a half years of waiting. This pregnancy was a little tumultuous“, confided Camille Santoro.

Indeed, after discovering that she was pregnant, the one who is also the happy mother of Alessio, Nino and Emie did an ultrasound to find out if everything was going well. But the gynecologistwhich was not the usual one, let her know that there was a hematoma and therefore she was at risk of miscarriage. She gave him an appointment ten days later to take stock and, unfortunately, the finding was the same. She therefore prescribed medication to stop the pregnancy. “I was at the bottom of the bucket“, she said. Seeing his dismay, his husband advised her to go see her usual gynecologist to get a second opinion. And he did well.

He listens to me and says ‘this baby is doing very well… and this one too. That’s when I understood. I was so relieved that my babies were fine. I never blamed this lady, because to err is human. But if I had listened to her, I would have lost my two babies“, continued Camille Santoro who then lived an exceptional pregnancy. At the thirty-third week, she went to the emergency room after feeling contractions. The medical staff tried to stop the work by giving her an infusion and injections for lung maturation in particular. But two days later, the contractions resumed, so she gave birth to Mattia and Maé at 34 weeks of pregnancy. They weighed 1,800 kg for 41 centimeters. “We were lucky, they did not encounter any major problems due to prematurity“, she concluded.
