Campsites in Bavaria: These are the 5 most beautiful places for your camping holiday

Camping holidays in their own country have been very popular with many, and not just since Corona. Whether in the mountains or by the lake – Bavaria has a lot to offer camping fans. We'll introduce you to the best seats.

1. Strandcamping Waging, Waging am See

This large campsite with 638 parceled parking spaces is located on Waginger See, the warmest lake in Upper Bavaria. The extensive meadow area with tall deciduous trees and bushes borders directly on the lake – the bathing and beach area offers large sunbathing lawns as well as bathing platforms and diving boards over a length of 400 meters. Because the pebble beach is steeply inclined in places, guests can also comfortably enter the water via stairs in some places.

The campsite is particularly dog-friendly: holidaymakers who bring their four-legged friend can relax on a separate lawn – there is even an agility area on the premises, where four-legged friends can really let off steam.

In addition: In the neighborhood there is a boat and bicycle rental, a mini golf course, a sailing and surfing school as well as tennis courts – even with indoor courts, if the weather does not cooperate. There is an animation program for children and adults during the summer holidays.

2. Camping Resort Allweglehen, Berchtesgaden

Holidays in the middle of the mountains with a view of the Watzmann: From Camping Resort Allweglehen, guests enjoy an unobstructed view of the beautiful Berchtesgaden landscape. The terrace space with a total of 196 parking spaces (each with electricity, fresh and waste water connections) is located on the edge of the national park of the same name below a wooded slope and offers a lot of comfort and luxury.

The heart of the facility is a state-of-the-art wellness area, newly opened in 2017, with a panorama sauna, Finnish sauna, an oasis of calm with loungers and a year-round heated outdoor pool. Here vacationers can also book applications such as sports, aroma and reflexology massages. Guests who value privacy can rent a state-of-the-art private bathroom with shower, bathtub and toilet in the new sanitary area for the duration of their stay.

Tip: If you are on holiday here, you should definitely bring your mountain boots and start hiking straight from the site. The region is also suitable for bicycle and e-bike tours – for example to Königssee, which is only six kilometers away.

The place is very suitable for families, because in addition to the playground and children's play room, there are games and handicraft activities as well as excursions to the Geisterklamm and the Walchensee power station during the holidays. In the youth room, teenagers can pass the time with, among other things, board and video games.

In addition to the use of the brine bath, whirlpool and sauna, guests can actually take a cure in their own therapy and wellness center under medical supervision – either themselves or paid for by health insurance.

Bad Griesbach is also a Mecca for golfers. Because fans of this sport will find the best conditions on six 18-hole championship courses in the vicinity.
