En offering a dissolute chronicle of the Windsor family, season 5 of the royal series The Crown, broadcast from November 9 on Netflix, is causing a great deal of controversy. The Palace is in its small shoes in anticipation of the launch of the new season, which covers the period from 1991 to 1996, and in particular the famous annus horribilis of royalty. The echo given to the role of the Prince of Wales in his separation and his divorce from Diana and his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles is indeed likely to rock the promising beginnings of the reign of the new monarch.

Peter Morgan, director and author of The Crown, did not do in the lace. Thus, the passionate affair lent by the production to the Duke of Edinburgh with the Countess Mounbatten, contrasting with the coldness of his marriage…
