Using a tube of sunscreen started from the previous year, good or bad idea? We explain the mistakes not to make.
Like all cosmetic products, sunscreen has an expiry date which is often written on its tube or on its secondary packaging. She also owns an effective date after openingusually between 3 to 12 months indicated by the words “3M”, “6M” or “12M”.
Thus, you can use sunscreen dating from last year if it is unopened and if its expiry date has not passed. On the other hand, if your sunscreen which dates from last year has already started and its effectiveness date has passed, it is better not to use it because its formula may no longer be as effective.
Also, you can determine the reliability of the product by observing the texture. If this has changed, it is obvious that it does not indicate anything good. A cream that turns into a liquid or worse into an oil, which slightly changes color and smell are clearly signs that prove that it should no longer be used. In case you have any doubt, it is better to replace the product with a new one, in order to ensure good protection against UV rays.

We know that the sun is dangerous for the skin, between sunburn, skin diseases, pigment spots and skin aging… protecting yourself from UV rays is something that should not be neglected, especially in summer. Even if we tend to think that some skins are less prone to these inconveniences than others, it is nevertheless obvious that all skin types should apply sunscreen.
