Canadian Grand Prix: Russell is on par with Verstappen and will start in the lead

by Samuel Troccaz (iDalgo)

George Russell won his second pole position in Formula 1 this Saturday on the Canadian Grand Prix circuit. The Briton will start in first position for the first time since 2022 in Hungary. A success which was very close to escaping the Mercedes driver since Max Verstappen achieved the exact same time as Russell during the third qualifying session. However, the native of King’s Lynn maintains the advantage since he completed his lap first. Pierre Gasly (15th) and Esteban Ocon (20th) will start outside the top 10. The disappointment is especially for Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque will start in eleventh place during Sunday’s race.
