Canailles trailer: François Cluzet and José Garcia in full buddy-movie

François Cluzet and José Garcia play the “Canailles” in a buddy-movie: discover the trailer for this robbery comedy, expected in cinemas on September 14th.

François Cluzet and José Garcia are the heroes of a robbery comedy, the first images of which have been unveiled. Canailles, that’s its title, is adapted from the book A Rascal and a half by Iain Levison (published by Editions Liana Levi).

The plot goes as follows: Following a heist that has gone wrong, Antoine (François Cluzet), injured in the leg, comes by force to Elias (José Garcia) to find a hideout. Nothing destined the robber, a trifle anarchist, to cross paths with this uneventful history teacher. A strange relationship then begins between the two men where influence and complicity mingle. But that was without counting on Lucie (Doria Tillier), the rather special investigator, in charge of the case…

The film is carried more exactly by the trio François Cluzet, José Garcia and Doria Tillier. François Cluzet and José Garcia had already found themselves starring in two of the same films: Quatre Etoiles by Christian Vincent (released in 2006), and more recently, We will end up together by Guillaume Canet, in 2019.

Canailles is directed by Christophe Offenstein, who has often collaborated with Guillaume Canet, as chief operator. As a director, we owe Christophe Offenstein, En Solitaire, Comment c’est loin, and the documentary series on Orelsan – Never show that to anyone for Prime Video.

The screenplay is co-written by Jonathan Koulavsky, Narjiss Slaoui and Gabor Rassov. The film will be released on September 14, 2022.
