Farewell Cafeyn, Canal+ subscribers now welcome a new service: PassPresse.
Last August, the Canal group announced various new features for the start of the school year, including an evolution of its Canal+ Cinéma channel, but also the end of the Cafeyn press service. This digital press kiosk founded in 2006, which launched LeKiosk in 2010, formed a partnership with Canal+ in 2017 before reclaiming the Cafeyn name two years later. Since September 18, Cafeyn is no longer part of Canal+ offers.

Exit Cafeyn, hello PassPresse!
Indeed, if it was until recently integrated into Canal+ offers, the Cafeyn service is now replaced by another service: PassPresse. Canal+ explains: “ You will be able to find your favorite dailies, weeklies and magazines unlimitedly from myCANAL and via the application and the dedicated website. Available to all Canal+ and CanalSat subscribers. »
For the record, PassPresse is published by Prisma Media, a company belonging to the Vivendi group. If the service is included for Canal subscribers, PassPresse can also be purchased separately, with a subscription set at 9.99 euros per month.
Within PassPresse, there are more than 250 titles available, including: Le Parisien/Aujourd’hui en France, Ouest France, Maxi, Télé Loisirs, Femme Actuelle, Le Journal du Dimanche, Le Journal de Mickey, Technikart, Marie Claire , Auto Moto, Society, 01net, Capital, Cuisine Actuelle…
A rather mixed reception
Despite all the enthusiasm of Canal+, on the subscriber side, this decision is far from unanimous, with a mixed reception to say the least regarding this new PassPresse. “ In recent months, the Canal+ offer has been declining, while the price of the subscription has increased. », Explains one of them.
“ It is clear that this PassPresse is a regression compared to Cafeyn! Much less easy to use and many fewer titles, especially regional newspapers », We can also read on the Canal Plus Assistance site. The majority of users deplore a service that is significantly less extensive than Cafeyn, with many magazines and daily newspapers missing.
