Canal+, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+… What is the best streaming platform in March 2024?

Free of the month: TF1+

TF1+ was launched on January 8, 2024 and replaces the old MyTF1 service. At no cost to the user, because it is financed by advertising, this AVoD (Advertising Video on Demand) platform simply requires creating a free account to access the 15,000 hours of programs.

In the catalog: Koh Lanta, star Academy, The Voice, but also 200 cinema films, 200 TV films and 200 series in full. In March, we find in particular the series HPI, Poker face, Jane the Virgin Or The Residentas well as the films Dune, Mrs. Doubtfire or even comedy Brothers in spite of themselves.

The only drawback is the advertisements at the start and middle of the program, with the exception of those of less than 15 minutes which start directly. Note that there is a TF1+ Premium offer (€5.99/month) to remove ads and have access to preview programs.

Disney+: 4th place

The weak months follow one another and are similar for the Disney streaming platform. Already off the podium in January and February, Disney+ was once again 4th in March, due in particular to a dearth of new films.

While free streaming services (TF1+, france.TV, arte.TV, etc.) offer top-tier films, Disney+ only has the concert film of Taylor Swift and the (very) average The mill back to his catalog. Two new feature films each month; we are on the verge of the unacceptable, especially given the price of the subscription revised upwards at the end of 2023.

Disney+ is catching up a little on the series side with the arrival of the animated X-Men ’97, Extraordinary season 2, Philadelphia season 16, Welcome to Wrexham season 2, and above all Murders and other complications. On this point, seriophiles will have reason to be satisfied.

Amazon’s streaming service enhances its offering in March with the successful HBO series The Regimethe end of season 2 ofInvincible or the first four seasons of Fargo.

The strength of Prime Video is, as always, its numerous acquisitions, mixing recent productions and cult films. In March, the service offers three films transformersthe trilogies Back to the future And Bridget Jonesas well as the prestigious biopic Ferrari by Michael Mann, with its star cast (Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley). Canal+ (and its myCanal streaming platform) also won this second place in March thanks to an elegant mix of prestigious series, quality blockbusters and incisive original creations.

Series fans once again have something to be satisfied with the captivating mini-series Fever (by the creator of Black Baron), the Apple series Manhunt on the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and the return of Trigger Point. Note the essential documentary Alive(s) on the journey of an abused woman.

Where the encrypted channel really convinces is on the cinema side. In the program : Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan, The Creator by Gareth Edwards, The Solution Book by Michel Gondry, Mystery in Venice by Kenneth Branagh or the Caesarized Goldman trial. As usual, this is without counting the numerous acquisitions of classic films.
