While negotiations are stalling with TF1, Canal+ has found a distribution agreement with M6, including free channels, pay channels, 6Play and GulliMax.
M6 Groupe has reached a distribution agreement with Canal+, announce the two entities. This is a renewal of their multi-year agreements (the exact duration of which has not been communicated) which includes the broadcasting of TNT channels from M6, but not only.
Free and paid channels as well as 6Play for Canal+ subscribers
Canal+ thus offers itself the right to continue to retransmit on its various distribution channels the free channels M6, W9, 6ter and Gulli. Several pay channels are also included in the transaction, including Paris Première, Téva and M6 Music.
But the agreement does not only concern the linear channels of the M6 Group. 6Play, the digital platform that provides live streams and channel replays, among other content, will also be accessible from the Canal+ ecosystem.
Finally, GulliMax, a video-on-demand service specializing in content for young people, continues to be part of the bouquets offered by Canal+.
Still disagree with TF1
For TF1, the situation remains blocked for the moment. The Paris Court of Appeal has ruled that Canal+ is not obliged to restore the signal of the TF1 channels on TNT Sat. We do not know if negotiations have resumed between the two parties.
The content of the TF1 group has not been available on all of the Canal group’s distribution channels since the beginning of September. The contract between the two entities expired without any agreement being reached to renew it. Canal notably accuses TF1 of being too greedy.
While waiting for a solution to be found by the various players, TNT Sat subscribers can receive TF1’s free-to-air channels via Globecast, a subsidiary of Orange. To do this, you must carry out a new memorization of channels. TF1, LCI, TMC, TFX and TF1 Séries Films then reappear, but under a different numbering.
