E3 will take place in 2023 without Nintendo. The publisher has now confirmed this to US media. At the same time, the company also gives the reasons for the cancellation.

Recently there have been rumors that with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft all three major console manufacturers will stay away from E3 this year. Now Nintendo has officially confirmed its cancellation.
The company explained to the US online magazine The Verge that the trade fair will remain connected, but that it simply does not fit in with the manufacturer’s plans this year.
One reason might well be that Nintendo will release “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom'” in May, more than a month before E3, and doesn’t want to harm the title with further announcements at the fair.
Should Sony and Microsoft also cancel, this would be a severe blow for E3. After a break due to corona this year, the fair will take place again in the usual form from June 13 to 16, 2023 in Los Angeles for the first time since 2019.
