While France 2 announced the end of “Candice Renoir” a few months ago, the channel finally reversed its decision and has just announced that the detective series worn by Cécile Bois will return for a new season.
The ax fell last December: France 2 announced that Candice Renoir was going to bow out at the end of season 10, the broadcast of which begins this Friday, May 20 at 9:10 p.m.
But at the time, the channel had reassured fans of the series since it had revealed that the heroine camped by Cécile Bois was going to return in the form of one-off special episodes which would take the form of 90-minute event investigations, at the manner of collections like Alex Hugo or César Wagner.
While one of these TV movies is currently being filmed in Corsica, France 2 has just entrusted our colleagues from Parisian that the series was finally going to stay on the air a little longer. “We have launched the writing of a season 11, composed of 6 episodes of 52 minutes”, announced Anne Holmes, the new program director of France Télévisions.
And for the occasion, Candice Renoir will leave Sète to go to Marseille, where she was transferred. “The idea came when we started working on the first 90-minute special. We said to ourselves that by changing the location, with all that implies new relationships, new colleagues and new settings, there was still potential.”.
This change of region, desired by the management of France Télévisions, had been mentioned during the formalization of the judgment of Plus Belle la vie, but no details had been communicated on the subject.
If Candice Renoir and Antoine (Raphaël Lenglet) will be back in this new season, what about the other characters in the series? For the time being, no name has been communicated but the production made a point of specifying that this new round of episodes will be the occasion “to introduce new characters and new rivalries. And we could consider making a few winks to Sète because Candice cannot completely skip these ten years.”
