Disney + will broadcast from October 12 a series inspired by a chilling news item: Candy, murder in Texas.
On October 12, a new Serie appeared on the platform Disney+ : Candy, murder in Texas. Five episodes will highlight a chilling news item, in which Jessica Biel will take the leading role. The facts date back to the 80s. Allan Gore, away for work, tries to reach his wife, Betty Gore. The latter does not respond. Worried, the man asks a neighbor to go see her. Thus, several neighbors go to the home of the mother of the family and discover a baby alone. Betty Gore will be found bloodied, an ax placed next to her body. After the autopsy, the doctors will reveal that the woman received no less than 41 ax blows.
The investigation is then launched and the police will initially think of the act of a vagrant. But the 28 blows to the woman’s face will lead investigators to believe the victim did indeed know her killer. They will then be interested in her husband. The latter will confide that his couple was fine despite some arguments, the day before his departure on the move. A thumbprint and a pair of shoes were found near Betty Gore’s body, which did not match those of her husband. But now the day after his interrogation, the husband goes to the police station to confess his crime.
A story of deception
The man confesses to having cheated on his wife with a young stay-at-home mother and friend of the family. She will then become the main suspect. A little girl says she saw Allan Gore’s mistress near the victim’s house on the day of the murder. The fingerprints found match those of this woman. On June 27, 1980 she was arrested. The woman pleads guilty but invokes self-defense. She then confides that she went to her lover’s on the day of the murder to confess the truth to Betty Gore. She grabbed an ax and threatened her. In the scuffle, Allan Gore’s mistress reportedly grabbed the tool and punched Betty Gore.
