Candy’s Rapido washing machine goes Pro

3

You have to believe that the Candy Rapido front-opening washing machine has met with success. Indeed, the manufacturer unveils a Pro version, still as connectivity-oriented.

Despite its accessibility, the Candy brand was one of the first on the market to make connected household appliances a reality with the Simply-Fi range. With his experience, the Italian released a few months ago a washing machine called Rapid’o, most of the handling of which was remote on a smartphone equipped with the house application, which had also evolved in a very positive way for the occasion. The RapidÓ Pro takes over from this model and the recipe, aesthetic at least, is generally the same.

The essentials of the series, such as the raised porthole (to simplify the filling of the 58-litre drum which can accommodate 8 kg of laundry) or the control panel with sensitive keys, inclined and placed on the upper part of the door, have been carried over to the RapidÓ Pro. There are also the steam functions intended to soften the textile fibers in order to facilitate ironing and to refresh laundry forgotten for a long time in a cupboard.

The RapidÓ Pro therefore evolves in small steps, and the spin speed, for example, goes from 1400 rpm to 1500 rpm, which should not drastically change the spin performance. More innovative, Candy has equipped the RapidÓ Pro with a system that mixes water and detergent before spraying this solution directly into the drum, onto the textile fibers (Quick&Clean technology). Note that all this is very reminiscent of what Samsung already offers with its Bubble Shot system present, among others, on the WF18T8000GW washing machine.

On the connectivity side, most of the functions present on the simply-Fi application are still available on hOn. It is therefore very easy to enrich the range of programs available by downloading them. It is also possible to configure them from the application and to change the maximum spin speed or the water temperature. As very often, there is a monitoring of the use of the washing machine showing the different cycles used as well as the consumption of water and electricity. The voice commands (compatible with Google Home and Alexa, no jealousy) already present on simply-Fi have also been retained.

Finally, it is the Snap&Wash function which is the main novelty. If we trust what Candy indicates, all you have to do is photograph a pile of textile pieces in front of the Candy RapidÓ Pro for the application to recognize the laundry load and adapt the cycle according to what it has recognized. Without going into details, it seems highly unlikely that the type of fabric is clearly identified. The colors will undoubtedly be the essential information taken into account by hOn to modify, very slightly, a master cycle, not too aggressive so as not to damage the fragile fibers but which may well be inefficient in the face of too many stains. encrusted.

As is often the case with Candy, the launch price of this model, whose energy label boasts an A, is very reasonable. Indeed, we can already get it for less than 600 €, in white or black.
