Cannes 2022: Vincent Lindon and Carole Bouquet surprise with a kiss during the closing ceremony

It is a sequence that will remain engraved in the annals of the Cannes Film Festival. While Vincent Lindon closed this 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, Carole Bouquet asked him to give her a kiss. A request accepted by the president of the jury!

End clap for the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. On Saturday May 28, the jury chaired by Vincent Lindon unveiled the winners with a Palme d’Or for the film Triangle of Sadness by Ruben Ostlund. But now a request from a famous actress has somewhat disturbed Vincent Lindon. If the latter asked with humor to be once again appointed president of the jury, so much the experience was pleasant to him, now Carole Bouquet felt to grow wings. Indeed, when Charlotte Vandermeersch and Felix Van Groeningen, the directors of the film The Eight Mountains received the jury prize tied with Eo by Jerzy Skolimowski, the filmmaker allowed herself to kiss her husband.

Amused by this demonstration of affection, Carole Bouquet then turned to Vincent Lindon : “I feel a little lonely, Vincent. Won’t you come and kiss me? After what happened in the couple. It was very moving”, she launched. Surprised, the president of the jury then asks him : “Do I have to come?” he said to her, stepping forward to kiss her. “You see, that’s cinema”, welcomed Carole Bouquet. The audience then applauded, happy to see such a beautiful gesture between the two actors.

Vincent Lindon: “We’ll talk about it later”

But for Vincent Lindon, it was very difficult to continue this ceremony. Indeed, when he asked Ladj Ly to present the special jury prize, the actor launched: “It’s a swimming president who will therefore announce…”, he began, before being interrupted by Carole Bouquet. “I am enchanted”she replied, to the laughter of the audience. Visibly surprised, Vincent Lindon concludes: “We’ll talk about it later.” A sequence that will remain engraved in the annals of the Cannes Film Festival.
