Thomas Pesquet has never hidden it: he is a big fan of Tom Cruise. And on the occasion of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which takes place from Tuesday May 17 to Saturday May 28, the astronaut was invited at the same time as his idol to attend the premiere of the American actor’s latest film, “Top Gun: Maverick”. Thus, Thomas Pesquet climbed the steps this Wednesday, May 18, around 6:30 p.m., thanks to the Monegasque production company Shibuya, a company with which he would work on a secret project.
So, of course, rumors are rife about a future collaboration between Tom Cruise and Thomas Pesquet. Especially since the 59-year-old actor is soon to go to space, aboard the ISS, for the needs of a film headed by Doug Liman, who notably directed “Mr. and Mrs. Smith. ” and “Edge of Tomorrow”. During this next feature film, the shooting of which could be postponed due to the context of the war in Ukraine, the star of Mission Impossible will have the right to his own capsule in orbit, SEE_1.

Before heading to the Cannes Film Festival, Tom Cruise, whose final role is as a fighter pilot, was invited by the Patrouille de France on the air base of Salon-de-Provence, in the Bouches-du-Rhône. It must be said that the star of Top Gun is a real source of inspiration for this very special job. On the Croisette this Wednesday, Tom Cruise even provided a two-hour Masterclass just before climbing the stairs with his film crew. It was Thomas Pesquet who was delighted.
