Cannes Film Festival 2022: Vincent Lindon will chair the jury for the 75th edition

Vincent Lindon will preside over the jury of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which will be held from May 11 to 28.

The French actor will award the Palme d’Or to one of the 21 films in the Competition during the Closing Ceremony, the organizers announced on Tuesday April 26 in a press release.

The man who won the best actor award in 2015 for his role in Stéphane Brizé’s “La Loi du marché”, succeeds American director Spike Lee, who, last year, awarded the Palme d’ gold to Julia Ducournau for her film “Titanium”.

Surrounded by eight jurors

Vincent Lindon will be surrounded by eight jurors, including French director Ladj Ly, to whom we owe the film “Les Miserables”, César for best film, American director and screenwriter Jeff Nichols, and Norwegian director and screenwriter Joachim Trier (“Julie in 12 chapters”).

Also on the jury list for this 75th edition are British-American actress and filmmaker Rebecca Hall, Indian actress Deepika Padukone, Danish actress Noomi Rapace, Italian actress and director Jasmine Trinca, as well as producer and Iranian director Asghar Farhadi.

In the history of the Festival, French artists have often played this role for a celebratory edition, such as Yves Montand in 1987 for the 40th anniversary, Gérard Depardieu in 1992 for the 45th Festival, or even Isabelle Adjani in 1997 for the 50th anniversary .
