Cannes press conference: “The Second Act” with director Quentin Dupieux, actress Léa Seydoux and actor Louis Garrel
On the evening of May 14, 2024, the 77th Cannes Film Festival opened with the film “The Second Act” by Quentin Dupieux. We were live at the press conference, at which Léa Seydoux (“No Time to Die”) was also present, and were able to ask the director a question.
As avid users of Letterboxd, a film review site, we noticed that Quentin Dupieux also has an account and has only rated two of all his films. “Rubber” only received half a star out of five from him, but “Daaaaaali!” received the full number of stars: 5!
The Second Act: How many stars would Quentin Dupieux give his own film?
We took the opportunity to ask Dupieux how he would rate his latest work. Quite quickly and without mincing his words, Quentin Dupieux blurted out: “4 stars! Maybe 4.5.”
A solid rating that also coincides with our review of the film, which opened the Cannes Film Festival in style. However, the film does not take part in the main competition for the Palme d’Or.
