CANNESERIES season 7: the surprise appearance of David Lynch on the Croisette for Kyle MacLachlan!

Friday April 5, the CANNESERIES Festival reopened its doors for season 7! During the opening ceremony, Kyle MacLachlan received the Canal+ Icon Award and was surprised to see his friend David Lynch (“Twin Peaks”) in front of him… or almost!

CANNESERIES season 7, here we go! Last night, Friday April 5, 2024, stars from the world of fiction walked the pink carpet to launch this event with fanfare. Bertrand Usclat, the master of ceremonies, amused the audience at the Palais des Festivals with his spicy humor and a video reproduction of the excellent series D’Argent et de sang!

David Lynch paid tribute to Kyle MacLachlan

During his speech, the actor awarded the Audience Award to the French series favored by French spectators, thanks to votes on the Europe 1 website. This time, it was the soap opera Déter (France TV Slash) which was acclaimed! On stage, the emotion and commitment of the series team was palpable!

But that’s not all because Bertrand Usclat also had the honor of offering Kyle MacLachlan (starring in Fallout, presented out of competition) his Canal+ Icon Award! The actor who we have seen over the years in the cinema or in cult series such as Sex and the City or Desperate Housewives even had a huge surprise: a video message from David Lynch!

“Terminal” with Jamel Debbouze and Ramzy Bedia presented at the opening

With kindness, sobriety and humor, the filmmaker who directed Kyle MacLachlan in Twin Peaks looked back on the actor’s career, saluting his entire journey. Visibly happy and moved by this award and the warmth of the public, the star gave a lovely speech of thanks while meeting festival-goers the next day for the screening of Fallout.

For its part, after playing with the crowd and journalists from the pink carpet, the Terminal team led by Jamel Debbouze presented three episodes of the new Canal+ sitcom. With Ramzy Bedia and Camille Chamoux, the series caused laughter in the audience.

Finally, on the TF1 side, the front page dailies and their emblematic faces made the trip. In troupe mode, the actors from Here it all begins (Zoï Sévérin, Loan Becmont, Stéphane Blancafort, Vanessa Demouy and Julie Sassoust), Tomorrow belongs to us (Raphaële Volkoff, Franck Monsigny, Hector Langevin, Emmanuel Moire and Farouk Bermouga) and Plus belle life, even more beautiful (Sylvie Flepp, Joakim Latzko, Diane Dassigny, Agathe de La Boulaye and Tim Rousseau) had the opportunity to meet their fans.

A busy kick-off for CANNESERIES season 7!
