Bang Bang Baby: from April 28, 2022 on Prime Video

Discovered this year, this Italian series of 10×50 minutes reveals in an explosion of colors and among a gallery of eccentric characters the actress Ariana Becheroni.

Bang Bang Baby starts in 1986 and follows Alice Giammatteo, a 16-year-old teenager who lives with her mother Gabriella in a small town in northern Italy. She finds her existence mundane and monotonous until she finds out that her father, Santo Maria, who she thought was dead for years, is alive. Determined, she leaves for Milan to meet him and finds herself invaded by her father’s family: the Barones, a clan from the Milanese branch of a mafia led with an iron fist by her grandmother…

Halo: from April 28, 2022 on CANAL+ and mycanal

It is one of the most anticipated series of the year. Broadcast in the United States since March 24 and presented in preview at Canneseries, it will be available exclusively from April 28 on Canal+, with two episodes every Thursday at 9 p.m. and available on MyCanal.

Led by Kyle Killen (Awake) and Steven Kane (The Last Ship), the series is produced by Amblin Television, Steven Spielberg’s production company. It is based on the scenario of the very first game of the famous eponymous video game saga – icon of the Xbox franchise with 82 million copies sold since 2001 – “Halo – Combat Evolved”. Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) plays Spartan John-117, alias Master Chief, a member of the army made up of genetically modified super-soldiers equipped with the latest advanced technologies in charge of defending the Earth against the Covenant. The nine episodes “with a stunning visual language” of Halo, are “centered on ethics, the thirst for freedom and the place of the individual in a galaxy organized around a supra Artificial Intelligence”. They follow the military and personal battles of Major John-117, but also Doctor Hasley/Natascha McElhone (Californication), brilliant and unfathomable scientist, figure of the demiurge in charge of the survival of humanity.

Infiniti: currently available on CANAL+ and MyCanal

A true UFO in the PAF, this sumptuous series carried by Céline Sallette (L’Apollonide: Souvenirs de la maison brothe) oscillates between thriller and science fiction. The ISS is no longer responding. While his crew is lost, a decapitated corpse covered in wax is found on a roof in Kazakhstan. The identification is formal: it is Anthony Kurz, the American astronaut supposed to be currently in the ISS… Isaac Turgun, a Kazakh cop hated by his corrupt hierarchy for his unfailing integrity tries to understand what could have happened. He is soon joined by Anna Zarathi, a French astronaut who should have taken part in the mission in the international capsule, and who cannot bring herself to believe that the American is no longer in the ISS. Le Flambeau, the adventurers of Chupacabra: from May 2022

Previewed at Canneseries this year, this sequel to the parody La Flamme is highly anticipated. In the 9 new 26-minute episodes, this time eyeing Koh-Lanta, “goodbye villa and hello Chupacabra. Marc and 15 other candidates will have to compete and survive on a desert island. Physical trials, mental manipulations and emotional betrayals will be the ingredients of this tropical cocktail, to be drunk very soon. Marion: June 1st on 13th Street

After Trauma in 2019, and I killed my husband last November, 13eRue will soon broadcast this new French creation, Marion, a 6×45 minute adapted from the novels by Daniel Thierry.

The series follows the investigations of a commissioner of the railway brigade played by a convincing Louise Monot (OSS 117: Rio no longer responds). Freshly arrived from Lyon with her adopted daughter, she joined the team at the Gare du Nord in Paris. A violent universe that will force the young woman to juggle between difficult criminal cases and her role as a mother.

Platonic: from May 5, 2022 on OCS

Screened in Short Series Competition this year, Platonique arrives on OCS. It follows Yann and Elsa who, unhappy in their respective couple, decide to leave their spouse to settle down together, “in all friendship”. “At the age of 35, the two best friends become roommates… with their kid who arrives every other week. Between rediscovered celibacy and family-friendship, Yann and Elsa think they have found the perfect balance. But can we really be a family with friends? Despite their desire to live differently, Yann and Elsa risk kissing each other in the rain at any time…”.

Prize for Best Screenplay and Best Original Soundtrack at Canneseries in 2018, this season 1 of the Norwegian series made up of 8 45-minute episodes will be available on Arte.tv (and therefore MyCanal).
