Capcom announces Exoprimal, a futuristic multiplayer dinosaur shooter

the State of Play which took place tonight revealed its share of announcements concerning new titles, even though these probably did not manage to create a real craze. The first game to be revealed on this show was Exoprimaland if one has been afraid for a time that Pragmata turned into a multiplayer shooter or that Dino Crisis went in a direction that nobody wants for the license, it is indeed a new license which seems to be a curious mixture between Anthem and ARK.

Anthem, is that you?

If you have an air of deja-vu, it is quite normal as the armors that we see in this trailer immediately make you think of the style ofAnthemboth in looks and in gameplay.

The game will plunge us into the year 2043, while the world sees strange vortexes appearing which are unleashing waves of dinosaurs on the cities, and this by the hundreds. Armed with exoskeletons with unique abilities, five players (because 4 was probably too much Anthem) get together to clean up. There are then three types of exoskeletons, namely:

  • Assault : The fast armor that inflicts damage in bursts
  • Tank : Armor that protects others while being heavily armed
  • Support : Versatile armor that can notably heal allies

Capcom tells us that the gameplay has above all been designed for cooperationwith the ability to change armor mid-battle so everyone can adapt to every role the team needs.

The developers tell us a little more about this Exoprimal in a dedicated video, where we see that it’s actually two teams of 5 who will play at the same timeand who will have to complete objectives before the others to win.

Exoprimal will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series later in 2023.
