Liv Tyler returns to Marvel 15 years after starring in The Incredible Hulk. She plays scientist Betty Ross again.

Liv Tyler (45, “The Lord of the Rings”) returns to the Marvel Universe 15 years after her starring role in “The Incredible Hulk” (2008). As “The Hollywood Reporter” further reports, the US actress will also play the role of scientist Betty Ross in “Captain America 4”. Ross is the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who was played in several films by the late William Hurt (1950-2022) and is now embodied in the new part by Harrison Ford (80).

Filming in Atlanta

The Incredible Hulk was released in the summer of 2008 as Marvel Studios’ second film after Iron Man launched the MCU. Edward Norton (53) played the leading role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. The actor left the franchise and was replaced by Mark Ruffalo (55) for “The Avengers” (2012). Tyler’s Ross was never seen again, although actors from that film have appeared in other projects over the years. William Hurt’s Ross had a role in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016).

The top cast of the film, which is currently being shot in Atlanta under the title “Captain America: New World Order” by director Julius Onah (40), includes Anthony Mackie (44, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”) in the leading role Sam Wilson. He wears Captain America’s mantle on the big screen for the first time.

Disney/Marvel has set May 3, 2024 as the start date for the adventure thriller.
