Registration started on Monday at midnight – and the offer was immediately taken advantage of. By 2 p.m., 25,000 fully vaccinated Upper Austrians secured their lot.
On December 15th it will be exciting: The first 500 winners will be determined in a drawing. The main drawing will take place on January 18, 2022 – if someone wins a prize in the first drawing, their lot will still be in the pot in the second drawing. Shortly before 8 o’clock there was lot number 8000, shortly after 12 noon 38,000 and around 3 pm 53,000 – but according to the state of Upper Austria this has nothing to do with the number of registrations, the numbers are assigned in a mess. Economic State Councilor Markus Achleitner (ÖVP) is certain that the lottery will contribute to the increased willingness to vaccinate: “The great interest is very gratifying, even more gratifying is the strong increase in vaccination readiness in Upper Austria, to which the prospect of prizes like a BMW i3 certainly contributes.” 20,400 vaccinations on the weekend Last weekend, 20,400 Upper Austrians picked up the bite. If you compare this with October, registrations for vaccinations have increased tenfold. The state of Upper Austria is therefore expanding the offer. Further pop-up vaccination campaigns are to come. Last week 150,000 vaccination doses were delivered to the vaccination centers in Upper Austria, this week another 88,000 doses will follow.
